Abohar: The bodies of a man and woman, who went missing, along with their minor girl, from Bhagu village in Muktsar, were found in the Gang Canal, near Netewala village in Sriganganagar. The bodies were tied with a cloth. The Chunawadh police station in charge Parmeshwar Suthar said Sonu Valmiki of Khippanwali village (Fazilka) was contacted after his number was found in the contact list of victim’s phone. OC

Ajay Vir quits as farmers’ commission chairman

Abohar: Ajay Vir Jakhar on Monday quit as chairman of the Punjab State Farmers’ & Farm Workers’ Commission. Ajay Vir, who had assumed the office in April 2017, tendered his resignation due to changed political situation in the state. Ajay is son of former minister Sajjan Kumar Jakhar and a nephew of PCC ex-president Sunil Jakhar. OC
