Chandigarh: Senior Akali Dal leader Prem Singh Chandumajra on Thursday blamed the illegal sand mafia for the death of two persons in an accident in Ropar on Wednesday evening. Demanding a case under Section 302 (murder), IPC, against the mining contractor of the area, he said Congress MLAs and ministers were in “cahoots” with the sand mafia. “The sand mafia is operating without environmental clearance to avoid paying instalments to the government,” said the SADleader.
