Arshdeep Singh (22), a student from Punjab, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault in Brampton, Canada.

The Peel Regional Police say they have arrested the student in connection with a string of sexual assaults against women in their early 20s who were waiting at bus stops and accepted a ride from someone posing as a rideshare driver. They said police received three reports of violent sexual assaults, two on November 8 and one on November 16, originating from Brampton. On November 8, in the morning hours, a woman was waiting at a bus stop near Countryside Drive and Bramalea road in Brampton when a man in a black four-door sedan approached her. The man identified himself as a rideshare service and offered a ride.
