The Revenue Patwar Union of Punjab on Sunday objected to changes in promotion rules for employees to the post of naib tehsildar. Union president Harvir Singh Dhindsa and former chief Mohan Singh Bhedpura objected to increase in quota of clerical employees and reduction in quota of kanungos. Recently, the government had decided to increase the quota for clerical staff to be promoted as naib tehsildar from three per cent to 25 per cent.
