Briefly: 24-yr-old man dies of drug overdose

Phagwara: A 24-year-old man died from drug overdose at Rampur Sunra village near Phagwara, the police said on Tuesday. The man was found dead on Monday evening in the fields with a syringe in his hand. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where the emergency medical officer declared him brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Charan. Three people have been arrested in this regard. TNS

Pastor Bajinder appears in court

Mohali: Jalandhar-based pastor Bajinder Singh on Tuesday appeared before a Mohali court in a 2018 rape case. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him on March 3.His counsel told the court that Bajinder was admitted to a hospital due to which he could not appear in the court. The court cancelled his non-bailable warrants issued against him and fixed March 24 as the next date of hearing. TNS

Body recovered from Muktsar canal

Muktsar: Three days after a man and his son from Madhak village in Faridkot allegedly jumped into the Rajasthan feeder canal near Jhabelwali village here, the body of 15-year-old Baljot Singh was recovered on Tuesday. His father’s body was recovered on Monday. The duo had allegedly recorded a video accusing some persons of harassing them. TNS
