Abohar: Executive member of the Central Government’s National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities and Vice Chairperson of Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, Dr Mohit Tantia, today announced a ban on US-manufactured products on the university campus in protest against 50 per cent tariff levied on India. Dr Tantia said Indians should oppose American tariff to make President Donald Trump administration realise that India was a big market. Keeping in mind the “Make in India” policy efforts should be to provide local-made alternatives to students on the university campus, he said.

Two held with 40kg poppy husk

Abohar:  The Rajasthan Police have recovered 40kg poppy husk from cavities in windows and other parts of car with two occupants. The police said the car was stopped and checked in the Bhanipura area near Hanumangarh. The poppy husk was being ferried to Fazilka. The occupants, identified as Buta Singh and Sandeep Singh of Fazilka, were arrested under the NDPS Act.

Two held with 102gm heroin

Abohar: The Rajasthan Police claims to have recovered 102gm of heroin from two occupants of a car that was stopped and searched near the NGS canal bridge in Hanumangarh. The suspects, identified as Kulbir Singh and Inderjit Singh of Arif Ke village, near Ferozepur, were arrested. Their car was impounded by the police.

Two held with 2kg opium

Abohar: The police recovered 2kg of opium, having a market value of Rs 10 lakh, from a vehicle which had two occupants, identified as Sidharth Doodi of Sri Ganganagar and Dharminder Bishnoi of Bhojasar village. A case was registered under the NDPS Act in this connection and both the accused were arrested. The police also recovered 35kg of poppy husk from Rajpreet Singh of Fatehgarh and Ravi of Ramsara village, who were traveling in a vehicle, on the Arjunsar-Pallu road in the Hanumangarh area.
