Summer vacation in schools from June 2 to 30

Chandigarh: All schools in the state will remain closed for summer vacation from June 2 to June 30. This was announced by School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Monday. The order will apply to all government, aided, recognised and private schools across the state. The minister encouraged students to utilise the period for engaging themselves in extracurricular and enriching activities. TNS

Four killed in car mishap

Abohar: Four persons were killed and two injured after the driver reportedly lost control on the car and it dashed into a tree near Kheruwala village on the Abohar-Sadulshahar-Hanumangarh state highway around 10 pm on Sunday. The deceased were identified as driver Wazir Singh (20), Balwinder Singh (18), Sukhwinder Singh (21) of Takht Hazara and Kulwinder Singh (23) of Gadarkhera. oc
