Muktsar: The Muktsar district police have arrested 89 persons in cases registered under the NDPS Act over the past two weeks. SSP Akhil Chaudhary said 58 cases were registered in connection with the seizure of heroin, opium, poppy husk, intoxicant pills and illegal money.

Man in police net for abetting suicide

Sriganganagar: On the complaint of a Kotkapura resident, the Sriganganagar police have arrested Chiman Lal for allegedly abetting the suicide of his daughter-in-law and granddaughter. The bodies of Vandana and her daughter were found in a canal. A case has been registered against her husband Sajan, father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law Priyanka for allegedly harassing her over dowry.

Lok Adalat in Fazilka

fazilka: Manjinder Singh, Member Secretary of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali, visited Fazilka to observe National Lok Adalat proceedings on Saturday. He also inspected the district jail, heard grievances of inmates and issued directions for their redressal.
