However, nothing objectionable was found during the operation, said the police. Thirty-seven inmates have been booked for the violence that occurred on Thursday and Saturday.
Honour for Sangrur SP Virk
Sangrur: Navreet Singh Virk, Superintendent of Police (Punjab Bureau of Investigation), Sangrur, has been awarded the sixth DGP's Commendation Disc by the Punjab Police for his outstanding services and devotion towards the duties. Earlier, he was honoured with the Chief Minister's Medal at the Republic Day function.
Contribution for flood-hit
Chandigarh: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department officials have decided to contribute one-day salary towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund for the flood-hit in the state. The amount will be around Rs 41 lakh.
