Eyewitnesses reported that he was riding his motorcycle at a slow speed when two stray cows, apparently agitated, suddenly ran across the road. One of the animals collided with his bike, causing him to fall and sustain critical injuries to the rear of his head. He was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, expressed grief over the untimely demise.

Extending his condolences to Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and the bereaved family, Dhami said that the sudden passing of Gurvinder Singh is an irreparable loss to the family.
