In a proactive move to ensure security, the Border Security Force (BSF) has deployed troops from the 66th Battalion in the Fazilka sector.

The troops have been carrying out extensive checks at night-time to thwart any attempt of anti-national activities. They have been keeping a vigil at night as temperature dips to 5 degree Celsius and visibility drops to zero.

Despite adverse weather conditions, including dense fog, the dedicated BSF troops are steadfastly working towards stepping up security along the international border and in hinterland areas.

A senior BSF officer said the force remains committed to its duty of safeguarding the nation’s borders even in challenging circumstances.

The proactive measures taken by the 66th Battalion underscore the BSF’s unwavering dedication to national security, he added.

Liladhar Sharma, chief of Border Area Development Front, an NGO, said the BSF is India’s first line of defence, entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s borders.

Committed to maintaining peace and security, the BSF plays a crucial role in ensuring the territorial integrity of the country, he added.
