Eight of the 30 passengers on board were injured in the accident, which also disrupted traffic. Fortunately, none of the injuries were serious, and people nearby helped by taking the injured passengers to private physicians in the village.

Harvinder Singh, a passenger, said there were dozens of dry and tall kikar trees along the road, making it an accident-prone zone. Despite repeated requests to the forest department to remove the trees, the response was that it would take a long time to complete the process of obtaining permission and subsequent auction.
