The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has questioned why Punjab is being targeted by anti-national forces every time before the elections, and why intelligence and security agencies fail on this front repeatedly.
Seeks law on ‘one MLA, one pension’
Opposing more than one pension to the sitting and ex-MLAs, AAP has demanded a ‘one MLA – one pension’ rule. A delegation of AAP MLAs led by Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday handed over a memorandum to Speaker Rana KP Singh, demanding the passage of law abolishing more than one pension
Senior AAP leader Aman Arora said: “There are only six months left for the Assembly elections. The law and order in the Congress rule has gone from bad to worse. It is a matter of concern that before every election in Punjab, anti-national forces make headlines.”
Arora further said: “In the past 10 days, the Chief Minister has repeatedly expressed concern over the threat to the state. There have been reports of terrorist activities through drones. Grenades are being recovered and anti-national elements arrested.”
He asked PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu whether it was right for Capt Amarinder to remain the Home Minister, who even after four and a half years had failed to improve the law and order. — TNS
