Earlier, Agriculture Minister Randeep Singh Nabha had requested to speed up the supply of DAP and said the state had total due allocation of 5.50 lakh metric tonne (LMT) DAP for Rabi 2021-22 but had received only 1.51 LMT of DAP. The minister said the state had demanded 2.75 LMT of DAP during October-2021, of which only 1.97 LMT was allocated by the Government of India for October, but the state received only 1.51 LMT. This had created an imbalance and shortage of 1.24 LMT of DAP in October only. The Agriculture Minister said about 85 per cent sowing of wheat in the state would be completed by November 25 and now sowing was at its peak. — TNS
