Jalandhar, October 16

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said CM Charanjit Singh Channi was misguiding homeless people of Scheduled Castes in the guise of giving them five marla plots. He said it was similar to the employment cards fraud.

Addressing mediapersons at the Circuit House in Jalandhar today, he said: “I want to tell the people of Punjab that just the way Capt Amarinder Singh befooled them in the name of employment under Ghar Ghar Rozgar scheme, Channi is befooling them in the name of five marla plots. The project has been in place since 1961, but even today, they are giving just papers, not land.”

The CM had on October 2 announced that a special pro-poor campaign would be launched across all villages to identify eligible beneficiaries of the 5 marla plot scheme.

“As no one got employment and employment allowance from Capt Amarinder’s employment card, no one will get five marla plots as promised by Channi. Questioning the CM, Sisodia said Channi has served as MLA and Minister thrice, can he tell as to how many people he had given five marla plots to date,” Sisodia said.

Earlier in the day, Sisodia also paid obeisance at the Valmiki temple at Shakti Nagar and also flagged off a shobha yatra on the occasion. Sisodia’s visit to the Valmiki temple comes in the same week as the party’s national convenor’s visit to the Shaktipeeth of Devi Talab Mandir.
