Dismissed police constable Amandeep Kaur, popularly known as “Insta Queen” and “Thar Wali Constable”, faces a fresh legal trouble as a Bathinda court framed charges against her in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Her counsel, advocate Vishavdeep Singh, said, “The court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge in Bathinda framed charges against Amandeep in the DA case on Tuesday. The detailed order is awaited, and the next date of hearing is January 21.” Amandeep has pleaded not guilty and opted to contest the case.

In another development, a woman has approached the police alleging that her husband married Amandeep without obtaining a legal divorce.

Gurmeet Kaur, wife of Balwinder Singh, an ambulance driver, has filed a complaint alleging that Balwinder solemnised marriage with Amandeep Kaur at a gurdwara in Bathinda on December 1 while still legally married to her.

“When I have not got divorce from Balwinder, how can he marry Amandeep? Moreover, the duo claimed to be unmarried in their affidavits. I have appealed to the police and the Punjab State Commission for Women for justice.” Gurmeet said.

Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal said, “The woman submitted her complaint yesterday, which I have marked to the DSP (Crime against Women) to inquire from both sides.” Sources close to Amandeep said her family has denied reports of her marriage.
