The DC advised the farmers to check moisture content of paddy before harvesting. Combine operators were asked not to harvest the crop after sunset. The arhtiyas were assured of timely lifting and adequate storage space.

As many as 57 purchase centres have been notified for crop procurement in the district, said Sandhu, adding that the staff had been directed to clean the yards and arrange basic amenities, including potable water and floodlights. The loading contractors were directed to instal GPS on every vehicle.
