Sources said the civilians were questioned as witnesses. They were shown video-recording of the October 14, 2015, incident. They were asked to identify people seen in the video. The SIT, led by ADGP LK Yadav, is trying to ascertain if the police were within their powers to open fire at the protesters. It is also mandated to find out if the firing was provoked. The SIT has already questioned many police officials and will question former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on June 22. — TNS
