Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann welcomed Chief Justice of India NV Ramana on his arrival at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport here on Wednesday.

The CJI is here to visit the state along with his family. As per his itinerary, he was to watch the retreat ceremony at the Attari-Wagah Jint Check Post in the evening. He and his family will pay obeisance at the Golden Temple tomorrow morning.

As per sources in the government, the CM specially took a helicopter to reach Amritsar to welcome the CJI. He presented him with a bouquet and a model of the Golden Temple. Mann said the state government was pleased to welcome the CJI during his maiden visit to the holy city.

Among others, Chief Secretary Anirudh Tewari, Director General of Police VK Bhawra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister A Venu Prasad, Jalandhar Division Commissioner VK Meena, Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sudan, Commissioner of Police Arunpal Singh, District and Sessions Judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa were present.
