The contractors need to give a five-year warranty on the projects they undertake, including repair and maintenance of link roads.

Initially, this model will be adopted in Barnala, Faridkot, Nawanshahr and Pathankot. A sum of Rs 225 crore would be spent on construction/repair of the link roads in these

four districts.

Mann said main motive of the campaign was to facilitate the people as these link roads act as a catalyst in commuting and smooth transportation of goods and services in rural areas.

He said artificial intelligence (AI) should be used for constructing link roads as it would ensure optimum use of the existing resources.
