A 9-foot King Cobra was rescued by a Forest and Wildlife Department team led by guard Kulwant from the kitchen of a house in Guru Kripa Colony near Abohar-Malout Road.

Street-2 resident Ajay Sharma said last night, when his family was cooking food in the kitchen, they spotted a cobra near the LPG cylinder. He said he called the Forest and Wildlife Department and told them about the 9-foot cobra. The department officials briefed the residents about the dos and don’ts of the situation and to stay alert.

Within 15 minutes, a team reached the spot and rescued the snake, after which the people of the locality heaved a sigh of relief.
