Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur, announced that no individual is permitted to enter a sewer manhole without appropriate safety gear, and all sewer cleaning must now be performed using machines.

Dr. Kaur also emphasised that any violation of these new safety protocols would lead to strict legal action. Furthermore, she urged the general public to participate in ensuring compliance with these regulations. Citizens are encouraged to report any instances of unsafe sewer cleaning or related issues to the helpline at 14420, the Municipal Corporation office at 01882-229687, or on mobile at 94634-97791.

To spread awareness, posters and flex boards have been displayed across the city, educating the public on the new safety rules and precautions regarding sewer cleaning.
