On December 4, the police had booked 12 persons of the Joshi group on the complaint of the rival group.

The FIR relates to an alleged clash on November 29 when Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had visited Kotkapura.

In order to lay claim to the ticket for the Assembly elections, members of both the groups allegedly were involved in a clash on the issue of installing hoardings at the CM’s venue. Joshi alleged that Kukki Chopra among others stopped them from putting up the posters.
