In the run-up to the byelection, the ruling AAP had already organised rallies of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, party convener Arvind Kejriwal, ministers and MLAs.

From the BJP’s side, former central ministers Vijay Sampla and Som Prakash, former Rajya Sabha member Shwet Malik, ex-minister Tikshan Sood and former MP Sushil Rinku had focused on small rallies and door-to-door campaign.

For the Congress, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi, former minister Sundar Sham Arora and MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh addressed rallies. They attacked AAP candidate’s father Dr Raj Chabbewal, who had shifted his loyalty to AAP to contest the Hoshiarpur parliamentary election.
