A local court in Chandigarh has acquitted former Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Anmol Gagan Maan and three other AAP leaders in a case registered against them in connection with a protest outside the BJP office three years ago.

Other leaders who have been acquitted include Rajwinder Kaur Gill, alias Raj Gill, Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia and Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Gill. The Chandigarh Police had registered a case against the AAP leaders in August 2021 on a complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahabir Singh. The ASI alleged that Maan, Gill, Dr Ahluwalia and Arsh along with several members of the AAP Women Wing assembled oustide the BJP office at Sector 37 in Chandigarh on August 29 for the protest.

As they broke barricades, they hurt policemen who were admitted to Government Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh.
