Cross-border smuggling: 5.4 kg heroin, Chinese pistol, ammunition recovered

These were reportedly dropped by a drone from the Pakistani side, near the international border in Jalalabad. A case has been registered at the Jalalabad Sadar Police Station, and Inspector Shimla Rani has been assigned to conduct the investigation.
An officer of the Inspector Rank, working as company commander, informed the Sadar Police Station, Jalalabad, that during the patrol on the intervening night of November 23-24, a 50-year-old man identified as Karnail Singh of Chak Bajida and Gurpreet Singh Lovpreet (27), were seen acting suspiciously in Tahliwala area. It later emerged that they were in contact with a drug smuggler over the phone in Pakistan. A case was registered under the NDPS Act.
Sharing details, Fazilka Senior Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh said today that Baljinder Singh’s house in Chak Tahliwala was raided. The police recovered 10 packets of heroin — 5.414 kg wrapped in yellow tape — along with a Chinese pistol, four magazines, and 12 rounds of .30 bore ammunition. He has now been named in the FIR, and efforts are underway to arrest him.
