In a video message, he thanked the youth who reached the Khanauri protest site on Sunday night following an appeal by him. Due to the presence of those youths, the government could not dare to attack the morcha, he added.
Dallewal said if constitutional institutions started passing orders to crush a “Satyagraha”, people might resort to violence and that would not be good for the country. He appealed to the Supreme Court and the Centre to pay attention to the farmers’ demands.
Meanwhile, retired ADGP Jaskaran Singh, on behalf of the state government, met Dallewal again today to convince him to take medical aid and get admitted to a hospital, but the farm leader declined his appeal yet again.
In two days, three attempts by Jaskaran Singh to convince Dallewal have failed. Today, Jaskaran Singh was accompanied by a medical team that examined Dallewal and collected his blood samples.
SKM (Non-Political) leader Kaka Singh Kotra said the success of Punjab Bandh showed the people stood by farmers and labourers in their struggle for the fulfilment of their demands.
Lakhwinder Singh Aulakh, state president of the Bharatiya Kisan Ekta (BKE), Haryana, appealed to the farmers of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to take part in the “Kisan Mahapanchayat” to be held on January 4 at Khanauri.
BKU (Krantikari) state president Surjit Singh Phul said Dallewal had told them to step up his security so that the government authorities could not remove him from the morcha site to get him admitted to the hospital.
