Dallewal should end indefinite fast: Jakhar
Appealing to farm leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal to end his fast, Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Monday said one-upmanship among various farmer unions was causing unrest in the state, leading the gullible youth to play in the hands of anti-India forces.
Addressing a press conference here, Jakhar expressed concern over the recent blasts in Punjab. “I am also a farmer and I always take up genuine demand of the community. However, I must say Dallewal needs to end his fast as the Supreme Court has already taken note of his protest.”
“They want to make Dallewal a sacrificial goat for their personal political gains,” he added. Citing The Tribune report on how gullible youths were playing in the hands of Khalistan terror outfits and Pakistan’s ISI, Jakhar said, “Fasts and protests lead to unrest, especially when several other farmer unions are not supporting the demands raised by Dallewal.”
“Farmer unions at the forefront of the agitation against farm laws have already announced that their agitation ended when the three farm laws were withdrawn. Hence, the genuineness of the demand about guaranteed MSP on crops by Dallewal is under question. I appeal to him to end his fast for peace in Punjab,” Jakhar said.
