Ruing that onlookers were busy with making videos instead of arranging medical aid, DC Mahavir Prasad Verma halted his official car and arranged a vehicle from his cavalcade for the injured. The DC told chief medical health officer Girdhari Mehrada, who was accompanying him, to escort the relief vehicle to the nearest community health centre at Sadulshehar and ensure the best medical aid.

Due to the Covid outbreak, DC Verma, along with the CMHO, was inspecting checkposts located on the inter-state border when he spotted two injured persons in a pool of blood. — OC
