The application for the release of Delhi bomb blast case convict Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar has been rejected by the Sentence Review Board (SRB) in Delhi.

Bhullar has undergone an actual sentence of more than 25 years and availed parole for more than three years during his imprisonment.

The SRB considered 46 cases for permanent release at a meeting on December 21. It allowed the release of 16 prisoners while the applications of others, including Bhullar, were rejected. BJP leader RP Singh put out a post on X this morning that had the order of release of the SRB. Bhullar was convicted in the 1993 blast outside the Youth Congress headquarters in Delhi that killed nine people and was deported from Germany.

He was awarded the death sentence, which was commuted to life imprisonment by the SC in 2014. Bhullar has been in Tihar Jail since 1995.
