Randeep had left India on June 1, 2024, and travelled from one country to another to gain an entry into the US.

He spent around three months in Vietnam where he suffered an infection and later died for the lack of medical treatment.

Sheikhpura Sarpanch Ajaib Singh said Randeep was working at an eatery and was under severe financial stress.

The aggrieved family members have demanded strict action against the Ambala Cantt-based immigration agent. Sources said as new immigration laws made illegal entry into the US almost impossible, the travel agent was trying to convince the family to opt for Australia or Canada. However, the family wanted the agent to bring Randeep back to India, sources claimed.

Randeep’s father Balwinder Singh today appealed to the government to help him bring the mortal remains. Deceased’s elder brother Ravi informed that Randeep was the youngest of three siblings. He said they got in touch with the travel agent through their maternal uncle. Ravi added that they had paid Rs 25 lakh to the agent out of Rs 42 lakh.
