National Periodontist Day was celebrated at Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital, a key institution of Desh Bhagat University, at Mandi Gobindgarh in Punjab on Wednesday. Organised by the Department of Periodontics in collaboration with the Dentistry Club, the event honoured the foundation of the the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP), which has been instrumental in advancing Periodontology in India.

This year’s celebration held special significance as ISP marks its 50th Anniversary - the Golden Jubilee Year of its establishment.

What began as a one-day celebration transformed into a week-long series of events, engaging students, faculty, and patients through various awareness programs, dental camps, and competitions.

The event was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur at the Department of Periodontics by releasing golden-coloured balloons into the sky, symbolising the Golden Jubilee celebration of ISP.
