She has sought to know whether excavation of sand from the Ravi was permitted under the present sand mining policy of the state and whether excavation of sand exactly near the embankments of rivers was allowed.

Drawing attention towards the government policy of “Jiska Khet Uski Ret”, she has sought to know whether the policy pertained to excavation in the main stream of rivers, or is limited only to the riverbed adjoining private fields.
