New Delhi, September 22

BJP on Monday said they were not aware of the reasons behind Harsimrat Kaur’s resignation from the Union Cabinet and pointed out that the Akali Dal leader had only questioned about the legal aspects of the farm Ordinances when they were being discussed.

Responding to a question regarding the resignation of Harsimrat Kaur, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said: “She (Harsimrat Kaur Badal) has been a distinguished member of the Cabinet. “Why they (Akali Dal) did it, we don’t know. She has been a distinguished minister in the Cabinet and I would like to remember her like that,” Prasad added.

Notably, Akali Dal resigned from the Cabinet saying that their concerns regarding the Ordinances were not addressed, terming the Bills replacing them anti-farmer.
