Drug peddler held with 35,000 intoxicating pills in Fazilka

The Fazilka police claimed to have nabbed a drug peddler carrying 35,400 intoxicating tablets in Bhai Mati Dass Colony in Fazilka district today.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on the hideout of the accused and held one Karnail Singh, a resident of Manne Wala village, and recovered 35,400 tablets of Alprazolam 0.5 mg from his possession.

The police said the accused would be produced before the judicial magistrate and detailed investigation would be held after seeking his remand. A case had been registered under Section 22/61/85 of the NDPS act. 

The police said the accused had already been facing three cases, including one at Khanna in Ludhiana district under the NDPS Act in different police stations.
