Sangrur, August 3
The police recovered eight stolen motorcycles during a raid on a non-functional sheller situated along the Banarasi village road near Khanauri. Two persons were arrested in that connection and an FIR registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS at the Khanauri police station.
Sub-Inspector Harminder Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Khanauri police station, said accused Gopal and Ravi were produced in a court at Moonak on Saturday that remanded them in police custody for two days.
The police action came after they reportedly got information that Gopal and Ravi, both residents of Khanauri, were in the habit of stealing motorcycles and that they had parked the stolen vehicles at a non-functional sheller on the Banarasi road near Khanauri. The informer also told the police that Gopal and Ravi were planning to transport the stolen motorcycles to some other city to sell these to scrap dealers.
