The incident came to light today when the victims didn’t reply to calls by relatives. The latter came to the village and found their bodies lying in a pool of blood.

The SP said the house was ransacked, which indicated that robbery could be the motive behind the crime. The couple was murdered with a pointed weapon used for breaking ice, she said, adding that further probe was on.
