Devansh Donsi, 22, a student of the Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology (SVIET), Chandigarh, reportedly failed to negotiate a pothole on the highway, causing his motorcycle to skid. A truck tanker coming from the opposite direction ran him over, resulting in his death on the spot.
A girl student of the college, accompanying him, sustained injuries in the mishap and was rushed to the Nangal Civil Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Donsi hailed from the Dugri area of Ludhiana near Brahmpur village. The two were reportedly on their way to the Jawali area in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, where Devansh was to drop the girl. A case has been registered.
