Ensure roll numbers to SC students, NCSC tells Punjab Govt

Chandigarh, June 7

National Commission for Scheduled Castes chief Vijay Sampla today asked Punjab to ensure immediate release of roll numbers to 2 lakh SC students in private colleges.

The Joint Association of Colleges had announced that the roll numbers were being withheld as the Punjab Government had failed to reimburse SC post-matric scholarship funds amounting to Rs 1,549 crore. The amount pertains to the 2017-18 to 2019-20 period. —TNS
