He pleaded that collective effort was required. The dera chief visited the local deras of Jalalabad and Fazilka in the afternoon today where thousands of residents reached the ‘satsang ghar’ in large numbers.
At present, 1,100 packets of food are offered to flood victims twice a day by the local dera management.
Dhillon has also directed his senior functionaries to adopt flood-affected villages to provide necessary items to them on behalf of Dera Beas.
Although Dhillon stayed at the dera for few minutes only, he met Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, SSP Gurmeet Singh, ADC Mandeep Kaur, Fazilka MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna and some followers.
Most flood-affected villages are situated on the border and are dominated by the Rai Sikh community. The majority of the community members are devoted to Dera Beas.
