Members of various farm unions, including the BKU, Jamhuri Kisan Sabha, Dehati Mazdoor Sabha and Azad Kisan Morcha, today staged a protest near Dutaranwali village over government’s failure to release compensation for damage to crop.

They also disrupted traffic for a few hours on the Abohar-Seetogunno-Dabwali road. The farmers raised slogans against the state government saying the compensation was announced last year for villages that had been waterlogged due to overflowing drains during monsoon. — OC
