Sangrur: Farmers protested in front of the Sangrur Deputy Commissioner’s office over long pending demands here on Wednesday. “Our main demands include cancellation of FIRs registered against farmers for stubble burning, purchase of cotton by the Cotton Corporation of India and implementation of recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. We will intensify our agitation in coming days,” said Bhupinder Longowal, leader of the Kirti Kisan Union. TNS
