Father of two dies due to ‘drug overdose’ in Abohar

A 33-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances here, with his family members suspecting drug overdose as the reason behind his death. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar.

Kumar’s brother Jeevan said his brother used to sell belgiri juice outside a religious place near Bhagat Singh Chowk. He is survived by his wife and two children. Jeevan claimed that for the past about five years, his brother was hooked on drugs. Jeevan said when he was working at his shop located near their home, his mother called him, saying Ashok had fallen unconscious.

He immediately took him to a hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

The family told the doctors that Ashok was a “drug addict”. — OC
