Gidderbaha police have arrested three persons, including a father-son duo, after a youngster allegedly died from a drug overdose on Friday.

The deceased Parveen Kumar’s uncle Ved Parkash from Chughe Kala village in Bathinda district lodged a complaint with the police. He alleged that his nephew was found sitting on the stairs of his shop near the bus stand in Gidderbaha and was having difficulty breathing.

“Parveen told me that Jasvir Singh and his father, Jagjit Singh, from Ward 5 in Gidderbaha, had administered some drug to him. He further informed me that earlier too the duo along with one Gurpreet Singh from Lulbai Road in Gidderbaha had administered drugs to him and had beaten him. I immediately took my nephew to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead,” alleged Ved.

A case has been registered under Sections 105, 304, 115 (2), and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
