On the night intervening July 15 and 16, Jagjit Singh, Peter Masih, residents of Karalia, and Vijay Singh Sunny of Ladhe village in Ajnala tehsil of Amritsar were arrested after heroin was recovered from the car in which they were travelling. The contraband was given to them by two bike-borne persons earlier. During interrogation, it came to light that Jagjit, Vijay and Peter were brought here by one Jobanjot Singh of Ladhe in his car.

Verma said in the case, two youths from Chak 4-FD village, who were Rinku’s relatives, were detained for interrogation. They had informed Rinku Singh about a suitable location to get heroin from Pakistani smugglers through drones. Rinku passed on the location details to Amritsar-based smugglers, who then contacted Pakistani smugglers and got the consignment of heroin dropped at the said place through a drone.

On the night of the incident, Rinku Singh and his two other accomplices had picked the consignment of heroin.
