Though the police said the youth died of a heart attack, some villagers alleged that he had died due to drug overdose. Investigating Officer Gurtej Singh, who reached the spot, said the statement of Nirmala Rani, wife of Nanak, has been recorded and she hasn’t levelled allegations against any person. She said her husband died of natural death due to heart attack, added the IO.

The post-mortem examination of the youth was conducted at the civil hospital and the body was handed over to the deceased’s family.
