Fire erupts in oil tanker

Abohar: The driver of an oil tanker escaped with minor injuries as he jumped when a fire erupted in his cabin on Thursday, near Raipura village on the Abohar-Seetogunno road. Balkaran Singh was transporting oil from Sriganganagar to Delhi, when suddenly a battery positioned in the driver’s cabin exploded, possibly due to some mechanical problem. The Municipal Fire Brigade was dispatched to the site and the fire was controlled in less than an hour. OC

Singer’s father missing

Fatehgarh Sahib: Punjabi singer Dilpreet Singh Dhillon has lodged a DDR claiming his father has been missing from his residence at Manupur village since January 14. The SHO said the singer said his father Kuldeep Singh, a head teacher, went missing on January 14 after he left the house to pay obeisance at a gurdwara. His cell phone was unreachable. His car was recovered from the parking of Sant Baba Ram Singh Ganduan Wale dera. The investigation is on. OC
