Firing at Amritsar village; boy dies, Army man hurt
A 15-year-old boy was killed while an Army man sustained bullet injuries after two bike-borne persons fired indiscriminately on them.
According to the police, the incident is suspected to be the result of an old enmity.
The incident took place during the closing ceremony of a football match at Khabbe Rajputa village in the Mehta Chowk area here.
The deceased was identified as Gursewak Singh, alias Sabu, of Nangali Kalan village and the injured as Gurpreet Singh. The latter had come to the village on leave and was playing as goalkeeper.
Amritsar (Rural) SSP Maninder Singh said the probe was still in its initial phase and nothing concrete could be said as of now. The SSP said the shooters had their face covered.
