Namdhari leader and Chairman of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), HS Hanspal, died today at the age of 86. He breathed his last at Max Hospital in Delhi.

He had served as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and represented Punjab in the Rajya Sabha for two terms.

Making a shift in his political journey, Hanspal — in 2022 — joined the Aam Aadmi Party after resigning from the Indian National Congress.
