Former Punjab Chief Minister and Jalandhar MP Charanjit Singh Channi is among the 17 Members of Parliament who will be honoured with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award 2025.

The award recognises outstanding contributions to parliamentary work, including participation in debates, raising questions and involvement in legislative activities.

Channi is the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Agriculture. He is being commended for highlighting farmer issues and proposing substantive agricultural reforms.

The Sansad Ratna Awards, instituted by the Prime Point Foundation, are based on data-driven assessments of parliamentary performance.

The awardees were selected by a jury committee, chaired by Hansraj Ahir, Chairman of the National Commission for Backwards Classes (NCBC). Ahir emphasised that the award celebrates MPs who have played a significant role in strengthening India’s democratic processes.
